The Basics of Backgammon Tactics – Part One

The goal of a Backgammon game is to move your chips around the Backgammon board and pull them from the game board quicker than your challenger who works harder to achieve the same buthowever they move in the opposite direction. Succeeding in a round of Backgammon needsrequires both tactics and good luck. Just how far you will be able to shift your checkers is up to the numbers from rolling the dice, and just how you move your pieces are decided on by your overall playing techniques. Players use a number of techniques in the differing stages of a match dependent on your positions and opponent’s.

The Running Game Strategy

The aim of the Running Game plan is to bring all your checkers into your home board and get them off as quick as you could. This strategy concentrates on the speed of moving your pieces with no time spent to hit or stop your competitor’s chips. The ideal time to use this technique is when you believe you might be able to move your own chips quicker than the opposition does: when 1) you have a fewer checkers on the game board; 2) all your pieces have past your opponent’s chips; or 3) your opponent doesn’t employ the hitting or blocking plan.

The Blocking Game Technique

The main goal of the blocking technique, by the title, is to block the opponent’s checkers, temporarily, while not fretting about shifting your pieces rapidly. As soon as you’ve created the blockade for the competitor’s movement with a couple of chips, you can move your other pieces quickly from the board. The player will need to also have an apparent strategy when to back off and shift the checkers that you utilized for blocking. The game gets interesting when the competitor uses the same blocking strategy.
