The Basics of Backgammon Game Plans – Part 2

As we dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a game of ability and good luck. The aim is to move your checkers carefully around the board to your inside board while at the same time your opposing player shifts their checkers toward their home board in the opposite direction. With opposing player pieces heading in opposite directions there is going to be conflict and the requirement for particular tactics at particular instances. The Priming Game Plan

If the goal of the blocking plan is to slow down the opponent to move his checkers, the Priming Game plan is to completely stop any activity of the opponent by constructing a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The Back Game Strategy

The aims of the Back Game technique and the Blocking Game technique are similar – to harm your opponent’s positions hoping to boost your chances of succeeding, however the Back Game tactic relies on alternate tactics to achieve that. The Back Game tactic is commonly used when you are far behind your opponent.
