The goal is to move your chips carefully around the game board to your inside board while at the same time your opposing player shifts their pieces toward their inner board in the opposite direction. With opposing player pieces heading in opposite directions there is bound to be conflict and the need for particular tactics at particular times. Here are the two final Backgammon plans to finish off your game.
The Priming Game Plan
If the goal of the blocking tactic is to slow down the opponent to shift her chips, the Priming Game strategy is to completely barricade any movement of the opposing player by building a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent’s checkers will either get hit, or result a battered position if he/she ever attempts to escape the wall. The trap of the prime can be setup anywhere between point 2 and point eleven in your board. Once you’ve successfully constructed the prime to stop the movement of the opponent, your opponent does not even get to toss the dice, that means you move your chips and roll the dice again. You’ll win the game for sure.
The Back Game Strategy
The objectives of the Back Game plan and the Blocking Game plan are similar – to harm your competitor’s positions in hope to improve your chances of succeeding, however the Back Game plan relies on different tactics to do that. The Back Game technique is frequently employed when you are far behind your competitor. To play Backgammon with this strategy, you have to control two or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single piece) late in the game. This plan is more difficult than others to employ in Backgammon because it needs careful movement of your chips and how the chips are moved is partly the result of the dice toss.
