The Essential Details of Backgammon Tactics – Part One

The goal of a Backgammon match is to shift your checkers around the game board and pull those pieces from the game board quicker than your challenger who works just as hard to attempt the same buthowever they move in the opposite direction. Winning a game of Backgammon requires both tactics and luck. Just how far you will be able to shift your checkers is up to the numbers from tossing the dice, and just how you shift your chips are determined by your overall gambling strategies. Players use a few techniques in the different stages of a game dependent on your positions and opponent’s.

The Running Game Technique

The goal of the Running Game plan is to lure all your checkers into your home board and pull them off as quickly as you can. This tactic concentrates on the pace of shifting your chips with no time spent to hit or stop your opponent’s checkers. The best scenario to use this technique is when you believe you might be able to shift your own pieces quicker than your opposition does: when 1) you have less chips on the board; 2) all your chips have past your opponent’s chips; or 3) the opposing player doesn’t use the hitting or blocking tactic.

The Blocking Game Plan

The primary aim of the blocking strategy, by its title, is to stop your opponent’s chips, temporarily, not worrying about shifting your pieces quickly. After you’ve created the blockage for the competitor’s movement with a couple of pieces, you can move your other checkers rapidly from the board. You will need to also have a clear plan when to extract and shift the chips that you utilized for blocking. The game becomes interesting when your opponent uses the same blocking technique.
