The Essential Basics of Backgammon Game Plans – Part Two
Posted in Backgammon on 11/20/2023 04:25 pm by ZaireAs we have dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a game of ability and good luck. The aim is to shift your pieces safely around the game board to your inner board and at the same time your opposing player moves their chips toward their inside board in the opposite direction. With opposing player chips moving in opposing directions there is going to be conflict and the requirement for specific techniques at specific instances. Here are the last 2 Backgammon strategies to round out your game.
The Priming Game Tactic
If the aim of the blocking strategy is to hamper the opponents ability to shift her pieces, the Priming Game plan is to completely stop any activity of the opponent by assembling a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent’s checkers will either get bumped, or result a battered position if he/she at all tries to escape the wall. The trap of the prime can be established anyplace between point 2 and point eleven in your game board. As soon as you’ve successfully constructed the prime to stop the movement of the competitor, the opponent does not even get a chance to roll the dice, that means you shift your chips and roll the dice yet again. You will be a winner for sure.
The Back Game Plan
The aims of the Back Game technique and the Blocking Game tactic are similar – to hurt your competitor’s positions in hope to boost your chances of winning, however the Back Game technique uses different techniques to achieve that. The Back Game plan is often employed when you are far behind your competitor. To compete in Backgammon with this plan, you have to control two or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This strategy is more challenging than others to play in Backgammon seeing as it needs careful movement of your pieces and how the chips are moved is partly the outcome of the dice toss.
