Posted in Backgammon on 11/08/2023 02:25 am by ZaireThe aim of a Backgammon game is to move your chips around the Backgammon board and get them off the board quicker than your competitor who works harder to do the same buthowever they move in the opposing direction. Winning a game in Backgammon needsrequires both tactics and luck. Just how far you will be able to move your pieces is left to the numbers from tossing the dice, and just how you move your checkers are determined by your overall playing techniques. Players use a number of plans in the differing parts of a match depending on your positions and opponent’s.
The Running Game Tactic
The goal of the Running Game strategy is to bring all your checkers into your inner board and pull them off as fast as you could. This plan focuses on the pace of shifting your pieces with no efforts to hit or barricade your competitor’s pieces. The best scenario to employ this tactic is when you believe you might be able to move your own pieces faster than your opposition does: when 1) you have less chips on the board; 2) all your pieces have past your competitor’s pieces; or 3) the opponent doesn’t use the hitting or blocking technique.
The Blocking Game Technique
The main aim of the blocking technique, by its name, is to stop your competitor’s pieces, temporarily, not worrying about moving your checkers quickly. As soon as you have established the barrier for the competitor’s movement with a couple of pieces, you can shift your other checkers rapidly off the game board. You will need to also have a good plan when to back off and shift the pieces that you employed for blocking. The game becomes intriguing when your competitor utilizes the same blocking strategy.
