This tactic concentrates on the speed of shifting your checkers with little or no efforts to hit or barricade your opponent’s checkers. The ideal time to employ this strategy is when you think you can move your own checkers quicker than your opposition does: when 1) you have a fewer checkers on the game board; 2) all your checkers have past your competitor’s pieces; or 3) your opponent does not employ the hitting or blocking technique.

The primary aim of the blocking plan, by the name, is to block your opponent’s checkers, temporarily, while not worrying about shifting your pieces quickly. After you have created the barrier for your competitor’s movement with a couple of pieces, you can move your other pieces rapidly from the game board. You should also have a clear strategy when to back off and move the checkers that you employed for the blockade. The game gets intriguing when your opponent utilizes the same blocking tactic.
