The Running Game Plan

The aim of the Running Game strategy is to entice all your pieces into your inner board and pull them off as quickly as you could. This technique focuses on the speed of moving your chips with no time spent to hit or stop your competitor’s checkers. The ideal scenario to employ this strategy is when you believe you might be able to shift your own pieces faster than your opposition does: when 1) you have less checkers on the board; 2) all your checkers have past your opponent’s checkers; or 3) the opposing player does not use the hitting or blocking plan.

The Blocking Game Plan

The main aim of the blocking technique, by the title, is to block your opponent’s chips, temporarily, while not fretting about shifting your pieces rapidly. Once you have established the barrier for your opponent’s movement with a few chips, you can move your other pieces quickly from the board. The player should also have an apparent plan when to withdraw and move the checkers that you employed for the blockade. The game gets interesting when the opposition utilizes the same blocking tactic.
