The Basics of Backgammon Game Plans – Part 2
Posted in Backgammon on 04/03/2023 07:25 pm by ZaireAs we have dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a casino game of skill and good luck. The goal is to move your checkers carefully around the game board to your inside board and at the same time your opposition moves their pieces toward their home board in the opposing direction. With opposing player pieces heading in opposing directions there is bound to be conflict and the requirement for specific strategies at particular instances. Here are the last 2 Backgammon plans to finish off your game.
The Priming Game Strategy
If the purpose of the blocking plan is to slow down the opponent to move their checkers, the Priming Game strategy is to completely barricade any movement of the opposing player by creating a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent’s pieces will either get hit, or end up in a bad position if she ever attempts to leave the wall. The trap of the prime can be setup anyplace between point 2 and point eleven in your game board. After you’ve successfully built the prime to prevent the activity of your competitor, your opponent does not even get to roll the dice, and you move your checkers and roll the dice again. You will be a winner for sure.
The Back Game Strategy
The goals of the Back Game plan and the Blocking Game tactic are similar – to harm your opponent’s positions in hope to improve your chances of succeeding, but the Back Game technique relies on alternate tactics to achieve that. The Back Game tactic is frequently employed when you are far behind your competitor. To participate in Backgammon with this strategy, you need to hold two or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This plan is more complex than others to play in Backgammon because it needs careful movement of your chips and how the chips are moved is partially the result of the dice toss.
