The Essential Details of Backgammon Tactics – Part 2
Posted in Backgammon on 12/04/2021 08:25 pm by ZaireAs we have dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a casino game of talent and good luck. The goal is to shift your chips safely around the game board to your home board and at the same time your opposing player shifts their chips toward their home board in the opposing direction. With competing player pieces heading in opposing directions there is bound to be conflict and the requirement for specific strategies at particular times. Here are the last 2 Backgammon strategies to round out your game.
The Priming Game Tactic
If the aim of the blocking plan is to slow down the opponent to shift their pieces, the Priming Game plan is to absolutely barricade any movement of the opposing player by building a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent’s pieces will either get bumped, or end up in a battered position if he/she at all attempts to leave the wall. The trap of the prime can be established anywhere between point 2 and point 11 in your game board. Once you have successfully built the prime to stop the activity of your competitor, your opponent doesn’t even get a chance to toss the dice, and you move your chips and roll the dice again. You’ll win the game for sure.
The Back Game Technique
The objectives of the Back Game technique and the Blocking Game strategy are similar – to hurt your opponent’s positions hoping to improve your chances of winning, but the Back Game tactic relies on different tactics to achieve that. The Back Game technique is frequently employed when you are far behind your competitor. To play Backgammon with this tactic, you have to control two or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This technique is more complex than others to play in Backgammon seeing as it requires careful movement of your chips and how the checkers are relocated is partially the outcome of the dice toss.
