The Essential Facts of Backgammon Strategies – Part 1

[ English ]

The aim of a Backgammon match is to shift your checkers around the Backgammon board and pull those pieces off the board faster than your challenger who works just as hard to achieve the same buthowever they move in the opposing direction. Winning a round of Backgammon requires both strategy and luck. Just how far you can move your checkers is left to the numbers from tossing a pair of dice, and the way you shift your checkers are determined by your overall gambling techniques. Players use different strategies in the differing parts of a game based on your positions and opponent’s.

The Running Game Tactic

The goal of the Running Game tactic is to entice all your chips into your inner board and bear them off as fast as you could. This tactic focuses on the pace of advancing your checkers with no time spent to hit or block your competitor’s chips. The ideal scenario to employ this technique is when you believe you can shift your own checkers a lot faster than your opposing player does: when 1) you have less chips on the game board; 2) all your pieces have past your competitor’s pieces; or 3) the opposing player does not employ the hitting or blocking strategy.

The Blocking Game Technique

The primary aim of the blocking plan, by its title, is to stop the opponent’s chips, temporarily, not fretting about moving your pieces rapidly. After you have established the blockage for the opponent’s movement with a couple of chips, you can move your other checkers rapidly from the board. The player should also have an apparent strategy when to back off and move the checkers that you employed for the blockade. The game becomes intriguing when your opponent uses the same blocking tactic.
