The objective of a Backgammon match is to shift your pieces around the Backgammon board and bear them from the game board faster than your competitor who works just as hard to achieve the same buthowever they move in the opposite direction. Succeeding in a game of Backgammon needsrequires both strategy and luck. How far you can shift your chips is left to the numbers from rolling the dice, and just how you move your chips are decided on by your overall gambling plans. Players use differing strategies in the different parts of a game dependent on your positions and opponent’s.
The Running Game Strategy
The aim of the Running Game strategy is to lure all your pieces into your home board and pull them off as quick as you can. This strategy concentrates on the pace of shifting your checkers with little or no time spent to hit or barricade your opponent’s chips. The best scenario to employ this plan is when you think you can shift your own checkers faster than the opposing player does: when 1) you have less pieces on the board; 2) all your checkers have moved beyond your competitor’s checkers; or 3) the opponent doesn’t use the hitting or blocking tactic.
The Blocking Game Plan
The main aim of the blocking strategy, by the title, is to stop your competitor’s pieces, temporarily, while not worrying about shifting your pieces rapidly. As soon as you’ve established the blockage for the opponent’s movement with a couple of chips, you can move your other chips swiftly from the board. The player will need to also have an apparent strategy when to withdraw and move the chips that you used for the blockade. The game gets intriguing when your competitor uses the same blocking strategy.
